The Cast Say Goodbye to Miami
Author: Jay | May 24, 2010 | Categories: Gallery, News
Watch out New Jersey, the cast of Jersey Shore is headed back to their home state!
Filming of the Miami portion of the show’s second season is complete. The eight self-proclaimed guidos and guidettes will converge on their old stomping grounds to finish filming season two in Seaside Heights just before the fourth of July weekend.
To make up for my recent neglect of the gallery, I just added 175 new pictures to the photo gallery, including our first batch of scans! They were provided by the amazing Shane of AllForJanet.com. To access the pics, click on one of the thumbnails or an album title below!
Snooki, the Situation and friends from “Jersey Shore” better live it up in Miami before they return to Seaside Heights to shoot new episodes of the MTV reality show in July. The cast’s favorite nightspots — including Karma, Bamboo and Captain Hooks — may be rolling back their summer hours, closing at 2 a.m. instead of 4 a.m.
We spoke to producer SallyAnn Salsano via phone about the potential change and tried to get dish on what’s to come for the housemates in season two, which premieres July 29.
Q: If the bars close at 2 a.m. in Seaside, is there a contingency plan because you’ll have less time to shoot? A: Less time to shoot? I shoot 24 hours a day.
Q: Well, shooting at the bars if they close earlier. A: If they close earlier, then the kids will go out earlier. And honestly for me, I vote “yes” because if the bars close at 2 a.m., I would be a happy girl. I could get some rest. I’m dying here in Miami. They close at 5:30 a.m. I’m like, “Jeez, Louise.” They don’t go out until 1 a.m. I want to shoot myself.
Q: When did the Miami idea come up? You read all kinds of stuff, the cast was going to another country… A: Being an East Coast girl, where does everyone go in the winter? They all migrate south and you think about the Italians, the Jews, the Irish — that’s where everyone goes. So-and-so’s grandparents went to Florida and the whole family is there.
Q: Are supporting characters from the first season going to be in season two? I read on the web somewhere that the person they called the Grenade, she wanted to come back for a cameo. A: Everyone wants to come back. If I read everything on the internet, I would not be able to go to work.
Q: In terms of making the transition from Miami to the Shore, the idea of having some new cast members along with people from season one, that has that been the plan all along? A: I’ve never had a Shore house with the exact same group of kids every year. That’s not how it goes.
Check back May 31st for the full interview with Salsano, who herself partied in summer shares after college.

We all remember Angelina Pivarnick’s infamous dramatic exit from the Jersey Shore’s first season and now in the second season it seems history repeats itself. We has exclusively learned that Angelina is no longer living with her cast mates.
“She hasn’t been seen entering or leaving the Miami’s Jersey Shore home in almost two weeks,” says a source.
We first reported last month the cast “despises her and can’t understand why she’s back. In fact, one of the cast members said that the show didn’t even take off until she left and she still wants credit for being part of the cast.”
On Tuesday our source reiterated, “She has never gotten along with the rest of the cast.”
We have also learned that she’s still on the show and living in Miami in an undisclosed location.
“She is still in Miami because she has been at the Gelato store but we never see her with the other cast members.”
Sources are keeping quiet about what caused Angelina to leave, but we’re told it will be on an episode of the hit MTV series. Jersey Shore Season Two premieres July 29.
Fist-pumping guidos and juicehead loving guidettes—and the millions who fell in love with them watching MTV’s unexpected reality hit Jersey Shore—will soon have a companion book to guide them through the memorable sayings delivered on the show, Gym, Tanning, Laundry: The Official Jersey Shore Quote Book.
The book will be published by MTV Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster’s Gallery Books division, and will include a 30-minute DVD of bonus material from the show. The trade paperback, which is due out June 15th and will include photos, marks the first official book tie-in to the show.
“MTV has long focused its lens on various subcultures and rites of passage, uncovering a host of memorable characters in the process. Jersey Shore, its newest and highest-rated series in two years, follows eight young adults as they move into a summer share. There, they indulge in everything popular summer hotspot Seaside Heights, New Jersey, has to offer … ‘You don’t have to live in New Jersey to love this show,’ said [Gallery Books publisher] Louise Burke. ‘Quoting this crew has become a national pastime.’”
A lawyer for a cast member of MTV’s Jersey Shore said Wednesday that an encounter between his client and another woman at a South Florida nightclub was a “non-incident.”
James Leonard Jr., who represents Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, said he spoke with her Tuesday after the woman accused the reality show star of punching her twice in the head Saturday night.
Kristen DeMinco showed reporters a bruise under her eye during a news conference outside Miami Beach police headquarters. A spokesman for the prosecutor’s office said authorities would review the allegations to see if charges are appropriate.
Leonard would not go into detail about what transpired between the women. He said he expects Giancola to be cleared once all the facts are known.
“This is attention-seeking behavior on behalf of the alleged victim, an opportunity to get her name in the papers as evidenced by her press conference,” Leonard said. “The whole thing is a mockery, an absolute dog-and-pony show.”
DeMinco said she plans to file a lawsuit over the incident, but Leonard dismissed the threat.
“There is no lawsuit here,” the attorney said. “She says she got slapped in the face. It’s not even worth the filing fees.”
DeMinco said Giancola confronted her in the VIP area of the nightclub Dream after she struck up a conversation with a man who apparently was Giancola’s boyfriend.
The Jersey Shore casting director who’s recently been quoted saying MTV is getting rid of the original cast of the show says he’s been misquoted.
In last week’s Blackbook Magazine, Jersey Shore casting director Doron Ofir was quoted saying MTV was looking for a new batch of reality guidos for the third season of the show.
Today, in an effort to stop the outcry over the rumors that the reality stars are being fired, Ofir took to his Twitter: “LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR! Blackbook Mag got it WRONG! I am casting 4 the current season Jersey Shore not a 3rd season & not a whole new cast!”
A 24-year-old woman says she was punched by a female cast member of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” at a Miami Beach nightclub.
Kristen DeMinco says Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola punched her on Saturday after she struck up a conversation with Sammi’s boyfriend, Ronnie Magro. Her lawyers said at a news conference outside the police department that they were filing a report and that they plan to sue Giancola and MTV.
A spokesman for the prosecutor’s office said authorities would review the allegations to see if charges are appropriate.
An MTV spokeswoman declined to comment and said she didn’t think Giancola had an agent. A talent agency in New York that once handled some of Giancola’s booking said it no longer represents her.
MTV’s Jersey Shore is currently filming its second season in Miami, but the network and producers have big changes in store for when the series returns to Seaside Heights, N.J. in July to finish filming — namely, we’ll see some brand new faces.
While recent reports have stated that these new faces won’t be seen until season 3, these casting additions will actually be made in the second half of season 2, which premieres July 29.
Once the original cast finishes filming the Miami stint at the end of May, production will take a break and then move back in July to finish filming the rest of the season. It’s unknown at this point how many new people will be added, or whether or not original cast members will be replaced.
